Theses IPT Refresher trainings are made up of 1.5 hrs of thememed training as Identified below. Followed by various IPT related topics requested by attendees, which may be different in every training. Requests to cover certain specific IPT areas will need to be made before the training and once a place has been allocated.

These focused trainings are designed for:
👉 Therapists that may have let their membership/accreditation lapse and wish to reapply for membership.
👉 Practitioners who may already have a foundational IPT knowledge base, and want to strengthen their skills.
👉 Trainee practitioners who have already attended the initial 6 days of training and have completed 1 or 2 cases.

🎓 Communication Analysis:
This focused 1.5‑hour masterclass offers an immersive exploration of Communication Analysis , one of the core clinical tools in Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

The aims of learning:

This advanced masterclass focuses on Goal Setting and Decision Analysis as essential tools for deepening therapeutic focus and aligning interventions with the client’s identified Focal Area. Through guided discussion, demonstration, and experiential practice, participants will learn how to make these processes purposeful, collaborative, and clinically effective.

Through guided discussion, demonstration, and experiential practice, participants will strengthen their ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty in the Initial Phase of IPT.

This advanced masterclass explores the Ending Phase of Interpersonal Psychotherapy within the 12‑session model, focusing on how to conclude therapy with clarity, compassion, and clinical precision. Participants will deepen their understanding of how to consolidate gains, manage separation themes, and support clients in sustaining progress beyond therapy.

👉 Navigate the emotional dynamics of endings, addressing loss, transition, and continuity  
👉 Facilitate reflective review, helping clients integrate insights and recognise interpersonal growth  
👉 Link progress to the Focal Area, reinforcing therapeutic learning and self‑efficacy  
👉 Manage attachment and separation, maintaining warmth while modelling healthy closure  
👉 Plan for maintenance and relapse prevention, ensuring clients leave therapy with confidence and direction
