Interpersonal Counselling (IPC) Training


IPT Training Institutes (IPT Midlands and IPT Durham) have worked in collaboration and developed the IPC training programme.

The treatment is designed for clients with mild depression; or distress and is an adaptation of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) which is an evidenced based treatment recommended by NICE. It can be delivered by Mental Health Practitioners, and non-mental health professionals once training has been completed.
The training consists of mixture of didactic teaching, demonstrations of relevant competencies via roleplay, video materials as well as discussions in the breakout groups. During this training you will learn all the strategies relevant to delivery of IPC and you will have an opportunity to see some examples as well as opportunity to practice these strategies.
This training is supported by the national body, IPT UK and can lead to accreditation as an IPC counsellor.
Please sign up to the relevant session below, an attendance CPD certificate will be provided on attendance, these sessions last an hour and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.

The 2 day training is on:
Cohort 4 Day 1 & 2 – Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th November 2026
Cohort 5 Day 1 & 2 – Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th January 2027
