Interpersonal Psychotherapy Practitioner (IPT)Training

Our Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) training equips mental health professionals with practical, evidence‑based skills to support clients by focusing on the relationship between emotional wellbeing and current interpersonal experiences. IPT is a structured, time‑limited therapy with a strong evidence base, particularly in the treatment of depression and related difficulties.

The training introduces the core principles and clinical techniques of IPT, including assessment, formulation, and intervention within the four key interpersonal focus areas: grief, role transitions, interpersonal disputes, and social isolation and is aligned with the core principles of the IPT competency framework . Participants will learn how to work collaboratively with clients to identify relationship patterns, enhance emotional awareness, and strengthen communication and social support.

The programme combines theory with practical application through case discussion, role‑play, and reflective learning. It is suitable for both qualified and trainee mental health professionals who wish to integrate IPT into their clinical practice or progress toward formal accreditation with the IPT UK a professional organisation.
